RESEARCH & VALIDATION

Folia’s development of active breathing systems has been supported through long-term research partnerships with the University of Technology Sydney and leading environmental researchers.
       Research has investigated how active planted systems can contribute to indoor environmental quality through biofiltration, airflow integration and plant-root interactions.
       Published testing has demonstrated:
  • Up to 95% reduction in volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • Up to 90% reduction in PM2.5 particulate matter
  • Increased carbon dioxide reduction compared with passive green wall systems
  • Clean Air Delivery Rates >500m³ per day under tested conditions

This body of research continues to inform the development of bespoke active planting systems and future green infrastructure projects.
