Enjoying nature can be a challenge for some residents of aged care communities. At Sydney’s Drayton House, we installed a large vertical garden, to the delight of the community.
Drayton House is a boutique aged care community on Sydney’s north shore and home to a wide range of older residents, including many who live with dementia. For those not freely able to leave the facility and engage with nature, the grounds offer an opportunity to bring nature closer.
We transformed a blank boundary wall into a lush 112sqm vertical garden of abundant vegetation and seasonal florals, creating an ever-changing plantscape for residents to enjoy – especially those whose rooms face the wall. It also serves as a stunning welcome to families and visitors exploring the possibility of future residency.
